One of my favorite thinkers, Malcolm Gladwell (The Turning Point and Blink) gave a presentation at TED a few years ago about the man who revolutionized spaghetti sauce. The real theme of the presentation, however, is looking at a problem from different angles and not taking anything, especially the “status quo”,  for granted. People who say something “isn’t done that way” are only referring to themselves - you might try doing it that way and find success through doing so!
